Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Wasabi Bitcoin Wallet (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and stores information when you use our iOS application and related services at wasabi.trade. The App is a custodial Bitcoin wallet: we operate wallet infrastructure on your behalf and store account and wallet data on our servers as needed to provide the service.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the Wasabi Bitcoin Wallet iOS app (Apple App ID 6819335563) and our backend services. Third-party blockchain explorers or market-data providers have their own policies.
2. Information we collect
We collect information necessary to create and operate your custodial wallet account, including:
- Account and device identifiers (for example, an app-generated device ID and session data).
- Wallet metadata: addresses, balances, transaction history, and transfer instructions you submit in the App.
- Recovery and security-related data you provide when creating or restoring a wallet (for example recovery input, optional passphrase, and related wallet configuration).
- Technical logs: app version, device type, IP address, timestamps, and diagnostic events used to secure and operate the service.
We may also receive attribution and analytics events (for example install and feature usage) from integrated SDKs, as described below.
3. How we use information
- Provide custodial wallet features: receive, send, balance display, fees, and history.
- Store and process wallet recovery data on our servers to support account restoration.
- Sign and broadcast Bitcoin transactions you authorize in the App.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; comply with legal obligations.
- Improve reliability and support users who contact us.
4. Storage and processing
Data is stored on our servers and on your device (for example cached balances, settings, and app lock credentials). Authoritative wallet records for the custodial service are maintained on our infrastructure. Bitcoin transactions are recorded on the public Bitcoin blockchain.
5. Sharing with service providers
We use third parties to operate the App, including:
- Our hosting infrastructure (wasabi.trade) — account and wallet operations.
- Blockchain data providers (for example Crypto APIs, Blockstream, Mempool.space, BlockCypher) — balances, UTXOs, fees, broadcast.
- Market data (for example CoinGecko, Coinbase, Kraken) — BTC/USD prices.
- AppsFlyer — install attribution and product analytics.
- Apple — App Store and platform services.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Camera
Camera access is used only to scan QR codes for Bitcoin addresses. You may paste addresses manually if you deny camera permission.
7. Retention
We retain account and transaction records while your wallet is active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, fraud prevention, disputes, and legal compliance. You may request account closure via Contact.
8. International transfers
Data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
9. Your choices
- You must accept our data practices in the App before continuing (Agree & Continue).
- You may disable camera access in iOS Settings.
- You may limit ad tracking in iOS Settings where available.
- Contact us to ask about your data or request deletion, subject to legal and operational requirements.
10. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
